There are many things that Panasonic deals in, one of them being video cameras, products like a certain addition to the LUMIX FZ series that the company released in its newest press announcement.

Panasonic is one of the IT players which has made it a point to cover multiple layers of the IT industry.

Among other things, it deals in display solutions, laptops, projectors and video cameras, be they intended for consumers or professional users.

Its newest press release has the sole purpose of trumpeting the impending arrival of the newest Lumix FZ camera.

Given the name of Lumix FZ150, it is equipped with a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and 25-600mm (24x) f/2.8-5.2 Leica lens with nano surface coating.

AVCHD video capture is supported, in a quality of 1,080p (Full HD, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels), as is a 12 fps burst mode.

Furthermore, when shooting videos instead of taking pictures, a stereo microphone handles the sound recording, complete with noise cancellation.

Panasonic even went to the trouble of implementing a side-lever control (adjusts zoom and focus with secondary levers to the left of the lens) and a 3-inch LCD, plus a 0.2-inch EVF.

"Panasonic continues to strive to meet the photography demands of its consumers by providing unique features and advanced technology in all our LUMIX digital cameras," said Darin Pepple, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.

"With the 24x Optical Zoom and 3D shooting capabilities the FZ150 is a versatile, powerful camera that gives users endless options to take creative and high-quality images and videos."

Panasonic wants prospective customers to pay $500 for the Lumix FZ150 when sales finally start, this September (2011).

As for some competition, users who want to know other options can take a look at the new NEX models that Sony brought forth a couple of days ago.
