It looks like every single mobile phone released by NTT DoCoMo, or other Japanese mobile operators for that matter, brings something special. While basically, they are all clamshells and should pretty much look the same, the Japanese prove us wrong and come up with great designs for each newly released phone. Moreover, they release so many different mobile phones, that it's hard not to find at least one that you're interested in.

The P703i, manufactured by Panasonic is another one from NTT DoCoMo's 703i series. Comparing to the other phones in DoCoMo's lineup, this one is a more basic handset. It features a 1.3 megapixel camera as well as a 0.1 megapixel inner camera used for video calls.

For easier and more convenient typing, the phone also features 3 large keys, named Waved Tile Key. A 2.2 inch 260k color TFT LCD screen with a QVGA resolution and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion complete the feature list.

Without TV capabilities or other high-tech features, more advanced users won't really take this phone into consideration when choosing a handset and will most likely be more interested in the SO703i, SO903iTV or the dual screen D800iDS.

Just like the other mobile phones recently presented by NTT DoCoMo, the P703i comes in three colors, Ramegura White, Hairline Black and Wavy Blue. It measures 99 ? 49 x 21mm and weighs 109 grams, so it's considerably more lightweight than the other phones. Along with the other 703i series models, it will start shipping in February.
