A true successor for the Lumix GF1 is in the works

After it released a new series of Micro Four Thirds lenses, Panasonic is now working on pairing them with a new high-end mirrorless camera, the Lumix GX1, which was just pictured in a series of leaked photos.

The snapper made its appearance where else than on a Chinese website and it looks like it could become a true successor to the original GF1.

Details are scarce, but the back of the camera seems to sport a touch-screen display and there's also that interesting looking pop-up flash that we have seen for the first time being used in the GF3.

A better image sensor than the one utilized for the GF1 is also expected and MU-43 suggests that this will be at least on-par with the one found on the G3.

Sadly, we don't know how much the Lumix GX1 will end up costing, but its launch date is said to be set for November 8.
