While most mobile phone makers out there are focused on releasing as many smartphones as possible, Panasonic has decided to go against the trend, and has just announced two feature phones in India, in the form of Panasonic GD21 and Panasonic GD31.

The new devices arrive in India only several months after the company announced the EZ180 and EZ240 feature phones on this market, and will land on shelves with price tags of Rs. 1,790 ($30/€22) and Rs. 2,190 ($36.5/€26.7) attached to them, respectively.

As you could imagine, the new devices arrive on shelves with basic capabilities packed inside, though they should still provide users with a decent experience.

The Panasonic GD21 was made official with a 2.4-inch screen that boasts a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, as well as with dual-SIM capabilities inside, a feature that is most sought for on emerging markets such as India.

Moreover, the handset sports Dual Band 900/1800MHz connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the back.

Panasonic also packed the phone with 32MB of RAM, as well as with a microSD memory card slot, so that users could add up to 16GB of external storage to it.

The specs list of this device also includes FM Radio & Recording, 3.5 jack stereo audio jack, LED Torch, Mobile Tracker, Blacklist, Security Inbox, and English & Hindi Support through Keypad.

Moreover, Panasonic GD21 is powered by an 1800mAh Lithium Ion Battery, measures 120x50x14.3mm, and arrives on the market in three color versions, namely Dark Grey, Light Grey and Silver.

Panasonic GD31, on the other hand, sports a 2.8-inch screen that can deliver a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, and which also features touch capabilities, as fonearena notes.

The phone comes with the same dual-SIM and connectivity capabilities as GD21 does, while featuring a 2MP camera with flash, Facebook, Data Protection, and Phonebook Backup.

Moreover, the handset offers support for up to 32GB of additional storage space via microSD memory cards, measures 96.6 x 56.6 x 13mm, and is powered by a 1100mAh Lithium Ion Battery. This phone will hit shelves in Silver, Grey and Black color options.

“The launch of these two models underscores Panasonic’s efforts in providing a remarkable mobile experience to the Indian consumers across cities,” Manish Sharma, managing director, Panasonic India, reportedly says.

“These models are priced perfectly matching with our consumers’ need for affordable solutions and thereby empowering the customers with a wide variety of products to choose from.”
