We expect to see the device grace us with its presence in a week or so

One of the highlights at Photokina 2014 will certainly come from Panasonic. We are expecting to see the photo gear maker unveil the new LX100 (not the LX1000 like it was known until not so long ago) fixed lens and Four Thirds sensor camera, which will be a disruptive product

We already knew the camera would bring some pretty amazing features to the table. But the latest information reported by 43Rumors claims the snapper will be offered with an exciting zoom lens, a 24-75mm f/1.7-2.8 optics to be precise.

On top of this great news, I can tell you that the new Panasonic LX100 will boast 4K shooting capabilities and will take advantage of a built-in EFV.

There’s no final information about the kind of sensor to fuel the new shooter, but it’s sensible to presume it’s going to be the same 16MP in the GH4 camera, which is also 4K-ready.

The Panasonic LX100 is expected to be quite compact and look similar to the older LC1, but then again the device manufacturer could end up surprising us.

The new shooter plus lens will be unveiled during a Panasonic event on September 15 in Germany. Keep an eye on our coverage of Photokina 2014 to learn about the hottest new products in photography.
