Soon enough, the OS will no longer be limited to phones and tablets

Panasonic is thinking of making cameras running the Android operating system from Google.

TechRadar is the one reporting on the matter, saying that a spokesperson from Panasonic UK will make a so-called “smart” camera.

It will compete with the smart camera that Polaroid revealed back in January.

"It's one option for the future, but we have to be mindful of the consumer and the warranty that we offer,” the spokesperson reportedly said.

“If we open up the platform to third parties, then we lose control of the warranty that we could offer the customer, because you never know what you're downloading."

The OS will support various photography apps and pretty much every other one in the Android marketplace (there are 400,000 in total, give or take).

"It is very interesting, in particular when you look at some of the apps you can download, the filters, the effects you can make, it's an interesting step. It's always good to see innovation."
