Panasonic has revealed today the world's first mirrorless camera capable of recording 4K video footage but, unfortunately, the Nippon electronics maker did not mention its price or availability.

According to the AmazonUS listing, the Panasonic GH4 will be available for pre-order starting March 17, and at that date we will also find out where its price point stands. According to the latest rumors, the GH4 will cost around $2,000 / €2,000.

Panasonic GH4 comes with a 16.05MP Live-MOS sensor, Venus Engine image processor, and a quad-core CPU especially designed to allow high-speed signal processing necessary for 4K video footage capture.

In addition to that, the camera is capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 200Mbps (ALL-Intra) bit rate or at 100Mbps (IPB) without recording time limit. Along with the new camera, Panasonic also announced the DMW-YAGH Interface Unit that allows you to stream uncompressed video and also comes with two XLR terminals for professional microphones.
