Decision announced a couple of weeks ago is met with compliance

If you all remember when we said that Panasonic had been slapped on the wrist with a €7,668,000 fine by the European Commissions, this is the moment when it is enforced.

The sum is about equal to $10.25 million and is what the company got for violating EU competition laws in its sales of refrigeration compressors.

If this reason seems peculiar, that's because it is, but at least this isn't another one of those arguably absurd patent infringement actions.

The ruling was given on December 7, 2011 and Panasonic has finally announced that yes, it really happened (the issuing of the fine that is) and that it will be submitting to the judgment of the EC

The payment won't actually leave a mark on the financial evolution of the company, though. The fiscal outlook for fiscal year ending on March 31, 2012 has suffered no revision.
