This seems to be this month's week of photo cameras, as Panasonic joins a steadily growing list of companies that have released new photo and video capture devices.

The company has introduced a new camera, part of the Lumix collection.

It is called Lumix GM1 and is a mirrorless Micro Four Thirds camera featuring a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor that can take photos even in low-light conditions (ISO of 25,600) at up to 40 frames per second in burst mode (when the electronic shutter is used).

When the mechanical shutter is used, the Burst limit is of 5 frames per second. Thee number rises to 7 when RAW images are taken. The autofocus system extends to low-light, pinpoint, and one-shot AF modes.

As for video, the Panasonic Lumix GM1 can record 1920 x 1080 at 60i and 50i in AVCHD and MP4 (full-time AF and tracking).

Sales should start in November 2013 for $750 / €750 (12-32mm kit lens included).
