Conservationists warn that the species risks going extinct due to habitat destruction

Keepers at Uruguay's Bioparque M’Bopicuá have announced that the facility is now home to a pair of Pampas kittens.

The baby cats were born nearly four weeks ago, on October 30, and are both healthy and active. Not to mention completely adorable.

It's yet unclear whether they are boys, girls or one of each. This is because they spend most of their time hidden in their den, and only come out every once in a while.

Whenever they decide to show their face in public, their mom is by their side, just to make sure that no harm comes to them.

Judging by her look in the picture above, looking after these two furballs is anything but easy. In fact, I dare say the Pampas cat mom hasn't had a good night's rest since she delivered her two bundles of joy. Zoo Borns tells us that, for the time being, Pampas cats are considered to be a near threatened species. Although the international trade in their pelts was outlawed back in 1987, the species still risks going extinct due to habitat destruction.
