The latest edition of Dancing With the Stars, now at its tenth season, brought major surprises and clear improvements in the performances of the celebrities in the competition. Even Kate Gosselin, who has been described in the harshest terms by both audiences and judges, did better, though she still landed in the bottom 3. But nothing compared to Pamela Anderson’s dance, the Las Vegas Sun says.

Though she was, from the start, considered to be the oddest choice for DWTS (bar Mrs. Gosselin perhaps, who had already gone on the record to say she was the worst possible dancer), Pamela Anderson has yet to disappoint with her performances. On the latest edition of the show, she almost outdid herself, managing to pull off a rumba that got judges singing her praise and telling her she’d proved them she could be elegant, sophisticated and incredibly hot at the same time.

“It was actress Pamela Anderson who surprised everybody’s expectations and danced her way into third place with Damian Whitewood with a score of 47 – only 5 points behind the leaders, figure skating champion Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya with 52 for their tango, and hard on the heels of singer Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough, who scored 50 with their rumba. Nicole was visibly disappointed at herself and about the judges’ critiques and scores,” the aforementioned e-zine writes.

Anderson’s biggest challenge, as the video below will also show, was to master the technique of the rumba, while also acquiring an extra touch of sophistication, which judges believed she lacked. Rehearsal footage showed the “Baywatch” babe put in a lot of work to do just that – and the result was astounding, to say the least. In fact, the only complaint the judges had was that she was perhaps a bit overdressed – a clear jab at her barely-there outfit.

Either way, Pamela Anderson has definitely won over the judges on DWTS, and it wasn’t only with her split at the end of the dance. Check out the video below and see exactly why. Enjoy.
