Fixes Build 8 installation issues

Sunnyvale-based mobile phone maker Palm has just released a new version of its SDK for the webOS operating system that is currently running on the company's Palm Pre mobile phone available on the airwaves of wireless carrier Sprint. The improvements that the new Mojo SDK v1.1 Build 12 brings forth are mainly aimed at platform-specific installation and configuration issues.

Here is what the change log shows: - Fixed Windows XP installation issue (system DLLs improperly replaced in some circumstances); - Fixed Windows XP and Vista installation failure (rollback at end of install process); - Fixed Mac installation issue (installation sometimes failed when an older version of Palm Emulator was not first uninstalled); - Shortcuts to launch emulator now work in Vista-64 (and now point to .bat file instead of .exe).

According to Palm, the new Mojo SDK v1.1 Build 12 does not come around with changes made to the SDK components, which means that developers who managed to successfully install the Palm Mojo SDK v1.1 Build 8 do not need to update to the new version. At the same time, we should also mention the fact that only the Windows and Mac OS X versions have been updated, while the Linux one remained the same.

In addition, Palm also says that there are still a series of issues that need to be taken care of, including some with the Palm Inspector (it won't connect to the emulator sometimes, which requires for the emulator to be restarted; it does not support reload; sometimes it may stop responding on Windows machines when the detail panel on the right side is opened), and with the fact that it can not be properly installed on Windows 7, which is still not official.

Those who experience installation problems with the Mojo SDK v1.1 Build 8 should head to Palm's webOSdev to download the new version of the SDK.
