Palm's Pre mobile phone made it to the market about a month ago in the US, via wireless operator Sprint, and now we learn that the Sunnyvale maker might be gearing up to make an official introduction of the handset on the UK market as soon as next month. According to Pocket-lint, Palm is about to make an announcement regarding the Pre in the country as soon as July 7.

For the time being, there are no exact details on what Palm is set to make public on that day, yet an announcement on the Pre is the most probable thing that will happen. The UK press briefings are reported to have been set on Tuesday, July 7, and Palm's marketing director will be present at the meetings.

According to Pre Central, the wireless operator that should have the Pre exclusively in the UK is O2, and the announcement on the phone's introduction is also expected to be made in the near future. O2 has already been rumored to be the carrier for the handset, and it seems that things are starting to come to light, especially with the upcoming Palm announcement.

The fact that the manufacturer is almost done with the GSM version of the Pre, the one expected to become available on the market in Europe, has been already confirmed in a way through the recently spotted video that shows the device in Vietnam. The only thing that remains to be seen now is when the Pre will come to Europe and which will be the carrier(s) to have it.

The O2 exclusivity might be only a rumor after all, but we hope that next week will shed some more light on this. At the same time, some specific details on the release date, the price tag and other facts are also expected to be unveiled, so stay tuned to learn more details on this.
