Better than iPhone, Angelina Jolie says

More images with the highly expected Palm Pre mobile phone have recently surfaced into the wild, this time showing the high-end device running a YouTube application. The photos, which have appeared on Twitter only for a short period of time, show the device featuring a YouTube application that resembles a lot that included in Palm's Treo Pro handset, as well as an e-mail that is being composed on the phone.

While these might not seem like extraordinary images to some, they are showing in a way that the Pre is coming close to a release date, whichever that would be, for we have heard a lot of rumors on the launch day of the device, and none of them have proven true up until now. One thing is for sure, though, it is coming, and that might happen before the end of this quarter.

In related news, we have also learned that Angelina Jolie has had recently a few words to say on the phone, and that she finds it better suited than the iPhone, as it offers easy texting capabilities, though its keys seem rather small. In addition, she is also reported to have stated that the Pre's touch-screen display looks like it can be easily scratched.

One way or another, Pre still seems to have enough capabilities to beat the iPhone in some contests, and it should do so, for Palm also needs the device to become a success on the market. Hopefully, it will also become available for purchase in the near future, for there are some things that should be taken into consideration, like the time factor, which can be seen as the most important one. The sooner the better we can say, given Apple's plans to release a new iteration of the iPhone OS in a few months’ time, as well as a new version of the device.
