Pakistani hackers Dr@cul@ and Muhammad Bilal claim to have compromised a total of over 20,000 websites belonging to various Indian organizations. No .gov.in websites appear to be hacked, but there are some that belong to educational institutions.

“Protests and stone throwing reported from Hajin, Shopian and Old Town (Gaza Pati) areas of Indian occupied Kashmir after Friday prayers!!! People were shouting pro-Freedom, pro-Mujahid, pro-Kashmir, pro-Geelani and anti-India slogans, demanding independence from India!!! The call for protests was given by Syed Ali Shah Geelani,” the hackers stated.

“Kashmir belongs to Pakistan! Check the history 1940 Pakistan resolution - K is for Kashmir, you may silent the innocent Kashmiris but we stand along with our Kashmiri brothers. We want free KASHMIR,” they added.

At the time of writing, some of the websites have been restored, but many of them still host the defacement page, added to each site in a file named “Pk.html.”

Update. After reviewing the allegedly hacked websites, some experts have found that the number might be highly exaggerated. The actual number of defaced websites appears to be a few hundred, not 20,000.
