A fully functional mini tank for your own home

Are you a hardcore paintball fan, who spends all his/her money on improving equipment, going to competitions and so on? Well, if that's the case, then you will surely get a kick out of the following device, namely the Paintball Panzer presented by the people over at Funtrak, a mini-tank that will allow users to engage in motorized battles, even if the "shells" won't be more than simple balls filled with paint.

As you can plainly see from the picture, this mini-armored vehicle can hold only one person and, even if it looks...well, rather ridiculous, it has been fitted with a fire-while-driving paintball cannon, which makes it quite a formidable weapon. Nevertheless, even if this thing might seem to be quite dangerous, the manufacturers assure us that it's perfectly safe for the driver. Thus, the Paintball Panzer features a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) chassis, as well as an engine firewall, designed to protect the driver against the heat generated by the mini-tank's GX390 Honda engine that power the hydraulic drive motors.

Furthermore, the driver is protected by a rollover bar and a roll cage, assuring the fact that he/she will be safe at all times while going around in this thing (which, by the way, can also go on normal roads, at least in UK). For additional safety, the engine power output can be pre-set to suit all ages and temperaments, and the safety marshals on every field can even have their own engine cut-off blipper with a range of 100 yards.

However, as you might expect, this thing is not cheap at all, as it is completely custom built and painted (actually, customers have to wait for around 3 months for their unit to be ready). Thus, the paintball enthusiasts who actually want to get a Panzer for themselves will have to fork out around 8,000 British pounds (that's over 16,000 US dollars), which is a pretty big sum to pay, even if this thing will allow you to wreak havoc on any paintball field (not to mention your own neighborhood).

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
