As one of Acer's subsidiaries, it was only a matter of time before Packard Bell opened its door for the Atom N550 dual-core, and the company seems to have completed the dot SE netbook, a 10-inch entry-level mobile PC with a 7.5-hour battery life.

As end-users may know, the Atom N550 is the recently-released mobile central processing unit from Intel that is intended as a more powerful processing solution for netbooks.

Compared to its predecessors, this CPU is superior because it has two cores, each clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz.

As soon as this part was trumpeted by the Santa Clara, California-based company, makers of mobile PCs revealed their respective netbooks that use it as the processing solution.

Packard Bell, a subsidiary of Acer, has now joined this movement, according to a report made by Netbook News.de, which managed to find an online listing of it.

Apparently, the machine is a Pine Trail netbook with more or less common hardware specifications.

For one, the a LED-backlit display has a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a native resolution is of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

The aforementioned Atom N550 is backed up by 1GB of RAM and paired with the Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 3150 integrated graphics.

What's more, the laptop is equipped with a hard disk drive of 250GB, as well as the obligatory connectivity and I/O capabilities.

This includes LAN, WiFi, a 5-in-1 card reader, a 6-cell battery and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

No doubt end-users will be most impressed by the fact that the aforementioned battery can keep the machine running for up to 7 hours and a half.

Finally, the PC maker offers its creation pre-loaded with Windows 7 Starter and Office 2010 Starter.

The page on Alltron lists the Packard Bell dot SE with a tag of roughly $510. Those interested may find the listing here.
