The PlayStation Portable lineup from Sony has just seen a brand new price cut, taking the PSP-3000 model's price tag to $129.99.

Sony has been promoting its Next Generation Portable left and right these days, but it's also been trying to raise interest in its current PSP lineup, now composed out of the older PSP-3000 model and the newer PSP Go version.

In order to increase sales before the end of the PSP's lifecycle, Sony has now introduced a price cut for the PSP-3000 edition, taking it to $129.99.

“Since launching in 2005, the PSP platform has had a profound impact on the way we play games while on-the-go, pushing the boundaries for cross-media entertainment and setting the benchmark for quality for portable games – not to mention selling 23 million* units to date in North America and more than 67 million worldwide.

“Today we’re very excited to announce that the PSP-3000 system will be available for a new low price of $129.99 (MSRP) starting February 27, 2011, offering its greatest value to date,” Sony said.

What's more, the complete PSP Entertainment Packs will be available from $159.99, bringing all of the accessories you might want to get the most out of your new portable console.

In order to keep the momentum going, Sony has also introduced an array of recent games into the PSP Greatest Hits and Favorites collections, priced at $19.99 and $9.99, respectively.
