Expensive packs for Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm

All of you Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm fans will surely be happy to know that there's new content waiting for you on the PSN, including new vehicles (for MotorStorm) and new maps (for Resistance). However, not everyone's so happy with having to pay for additional content, while using the PSN instead of the game's "Purchase" option.

This point of view is stated on ps3blog.net, where one of the editors criticizes this decision and the exaggerated prices - $4.99 for the two Resistance maps (Axebridge and Bracknell) and a vehicle and skins pack for MotorStorm available for $1.99. The PS3-oriented blogger has a couple of well-built theories that might lead you to think about an entire conspiracy which aims to deliver us games stripped of their content, for a future cashing-in initiative. The "Purchase" option mentioned earlier is featured in Resistance and considering the fact that the original game includes plenty of maps, you might want to skip this offer.

Things are different when it comes to MotorStorm, since the title doesn't include many vehicles so any addition is welcome, specially when you get two new rides each featuring three skins plus two other skins for the already existing vehicles, divided into 7 classes. This is where the whole "conspiracy theory" makes its appearance, because the blogger claims that the producers of the two above-mentioned titles are ripping gamers off, by making us pay for the content they were too lazy to implement. However, we've seen similar releases of content in the case of many, many Xbox 360 titles, including Guitar Hero games and their song packs plus the maps of Lost Planet and the many Gears of War packs.

Nobody complained about those, specially because they were popular in multiplayer mode, but now, since the PS3's already considered an expensive device (or should I say "was"?), each penny you spend on downloadable content hurts your gamer wallet.
