What, NEO-GEO games weren't enough?

Looks like "old games making a comeback" is taking proportions. The Wii and the Xbox 360 got their share of old arcade games (NEO-GEO games we used to find scattered all across the country back in the 90s), but Sony is keen on launching even more on their platform, the PS3, via the console's Internet service, PlayStation Network.

So let's keep it short and concise shall we? Here are the three new games launching on PSN between May 18 and June 15, as announced by Sony's unofficial blog, ThreeSpeech: Calling all Cars - May 18th, Nucleus - May 25th and on June 15th, Super Stardust HD, all downloadable, but I couldn't find a price for them anywhere.

Calling all Cars is quite simplistic actually but looks a pretty good deal like Twisted Metal. It has a top-down perspective (like early GTA titles) using cellshading graphics. Gamers must capture a loose criminal while battling against 3 other cops trying to bring him down while playing on their own. Calling all Cars has both an online mode and a split-screen play.

Nucleus: if you've played Blast Factor, it's very much the same, only you'll be shooting proteins and bacteria instead of ships. Your main goal will be to control a microscopic remote-controlled craft, blowing into nonexistence nasty cells invading healthy bloodstreams.

If the other two resembled something, this one resembles everything: in Super Stardust HD gamers control a tiny spacecraft, destroying everything in sight. Players may equip the ship with three different weapons, each having a different impact on objects shot down. But it gets fishy just as soon as you finish blowing up asteroids and crystals: the enemies appear. Don't worry they're not so tough and you'll move onto the next phase in no time. Each planet you hover over has five phases, and the last (as you might have already hinted) features a boss battle.

That's that then. There is one little thing I'd like to add however. Nobody's answered my question yet: have game developers taken a vacation?
