Talk about number of polygons... Where do they come up with the ideas for creatures anyway?

New, absolutely gorgeous screenshots from Factor 5's upcoming title for the PS3, Lair, published through Sony Computer Entertainment America, are now available thanks to UltimaGame. Every other click on every other picture will reveal just how beautiful native full HD 1080p graphics can be. Of course, graphics isn't the only thing one is interested in when purchasing a game and Factor 5 obviously thought of that when they created Lair which is an action, flight, and combat game in which players control the reins of a dragon to fight both in air and land that even makes pretty good use of the Sixaxis controller's tilt functions.

It is all too familiar to everyone that Sony kind of messed up with the controllers for their last console, but it looks like things can look up again for the machine, respectively for the company as well, due to this spectacular game that not only looks breath-taking but also plays wonderfully with the Sixaxis.

Who's to say that the PS3 is in it to its neck? I wouldn't be surprised to see the PS3 on the top of sales charts everywhere a year from now, given that more games like this launch on it and keeping in mind that it still has a long way to go before more people acquire it. It hasn't even launched on three of the continents so it still has time to set the world on fire, just like its predecessor did, the PS2.

And if the screenshots aren't enough to prove Lair's potential, then how about some Progressive Mesh, High-Dynamic Range Lighting, Real-time Dynamic Physics, Real-time Fluid Dynamics, Parallax Shaders and Real-Time Renderings/Volumetric Effects for you? Check out the one with the beast captured from the back flying across the ocean. Now that's finesse.
