Sony Computer Entertainment seems to be experiencing some new problems with the PlayStation 3 games console. After the Japanese based company had some trouble with some key components and was forced to delay the European launch, here they are, having to give explanations regarding some troubleshooting issues of PS3.

During the Tokyo Game Show event, in which Ridger Racer was tested on the PS3, the games console experienced overheating problems. All experienced gamers know that this sort of thing can happen when unfinished code is tested on newly developed software. Furthermore, when you connect a Bravia television to a high end console you can expect it to have some problems. Maybe the TGS "specialists" should have known that and could have avoided causing such a fuss in the gaming community.

All in all, participating in the TGS was a wrong move for Sony, as overheating was not the only problem experienced by PS3. According to a statement made by Sony's spokesman, the games console also had some stability problems and needed to be reset often. He also said that the company is concerned, because these problems started to appear so close to full production.

These problems had an effect on Sony's shares as their price went down by 2.7%, but Sony representatives declared that plans for shipping 6 million units globally by March 2007 remain unchanged.
