They stick to the regular USB 2.0 interface and have rugged cases

PNY figured this was as good a time as any for a new flash drive to make its appearance, so it went ahead and launched the HP v240b/v240g.

The HP v240b/v240g can be called a flash drive with multiple capacities just as easily as it can be dubbed a flash drive series with five (or really ten) members.

Overall, the models aren't that different, outwardly, since they employ the same sort of case and color options (blue and green).

Also, the plastic casings have a capped design and the possibility to attach a lanyard (they have a keyhole).

Furthermore, to protect the drives from the most common hazards such things are exposed to, the casings are dust-proof and waterproof as well.

Furthermore, the polymer involved in their creation gives them a high resistance to shock, not that the small weight of 4.2 grams could actually allow for falls and drops to hurt it.

That said, the flash drive units measure 7.0 mm x 16 mm x 31 mm (0.27 x 0.62 x 1.22 inches) and have capacities of 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.

In other words, the HP v240b/v240g series is composed of ten members (green and blue versions of each of the above).

The USB 2.0 interface standard is utilized, which means that people who want their drives working at super USB 3.0 speeds might want to look elsewhere.

The read and write speeds, in this case, are of up to 18 MB/s and 8 MB/s, respectively (they get slower the lower the capacity gets).

Unfortunately, despite revealing every one of the above pieces of information on the items, plus the warranty of two years, PNY didn't say how much money each item costs.

The tags are probably more than accessible, though, even with the sturdy physical design and the COB packaging (chip-on-board) packaging that enables the compactness.
