PNY Technologies has announced today the release of two new high-end professional graphics accelerators developed around NVIDIA's Quadro FX 5800 and Quadro FX 4800 GPUs, based on the company's GT200 architecture. The Quadro FX 5800 comes with 240 shader units (CUDA programmable parallel cores), and includes 4 GB of GDDR3 memory. At the same time, FX 4800 features 192 shader cores and has 1.5 GB of GDDR3 memory.

The features list of the new accelerators includes Real-time Visualisation of Large Data Sets, Increased Image Quality, Ultra-high Colour Fidelity and Resolutions, as well as High-performance Visualisation. The 1.5 GB and, respectively, 4GB graphics memory the Quadro Fx4800 and Quadro FX5800 feature allow them to process large textures and frames in real time, while being able to deliver fill rates of 38 billion texels per second along with geometry performance of 300 million triangles per second.

The image clarity and quality is directly influenced by a 128-bit precision graphic pipeline and 32x FSAA. At the same time, dual 10-bit display ports are able to deliver a color range of more than a billion colors, a number a few times bigger than the one delivered by previous generations of graphics cards. Moreover, a single dual-link digital display connector for ultra-high resolution panels enables resolutions of up to 3840 x 2400 at 24Hz.

The Quadro FX 5800 also includes NVIDIA's CUDA parallel computing processor architecture, and support for the C language environment and tool suite. The card features high-performance visualization which, in combination with CUDA, is able to deliver new capabilities to solve highly complex challenges, including real-time ray tracing, video encoding and interactive volume rendering.

The new graphics accelerators are able to deliver a great amount of visual computing power, which makes them a great choice for computing areas like oil and natural gas exploration, scientific visualization and medical imagery, as well as engineering and design. The company has announced that the cards are already available through retail channels and system builders and that they feature a suggested price of 1569 € for the Quadro FX 4800 and of 2859 € for the Quadro FX 5800.
