The USB 3.0 interface may be making the news often, but the fact remains that USB 2.0 is still the dominating presence in this field, as shown by PNY, whose latest flash drive sticks to this legacy technology.

The market for USB flash drives is one that has been growing at a very rapid pace and which is responsible for the diminished importance of optical storage.

Being so very small and light gadgets that can store more than the above, save Blu-ray in some cases, they, naturally, have a great following.

Said following increased quite a bit when the newest iteration of the Universal Serial bus standard came out, the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 one.

Still, even though the theoretical maximum throughput of 5 Gbps is nothing to scoff at, USB 2.0 is still very much alive and well.

PNY, thus, decided it wouldn't hurt to create the so-called Hook Attache, whose read and write speeds are of up to 25 MB/s and 8 MB/s, respectively.

The name comes from the real metal hook that allows it to fasten onto more or less anything that isn't too thick to get around. As such, one can be certain that it won't fall off and get lost anywhere any time soon.

PNY also chose a capless design (the body of the drive extends into the USB 2.0 plug itself) and managed to get its latest creation to measure 43.5 x 18.5 x 4 mm, while the wights is of 4 grams.

As reports have it, there are three capacity options, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB, their prices set at 18.99 Euro, 28.99 Euro and 59.99 Euro, respectively.

What remains is to see how well this item series sells, considering that USB 3.0 solutions of similar capacities don't go for much more in today's shops.
