With the help of a 3G or GPRS enabled phone, users can now book anything directly from their mobile phone, regardless of the network they are on. PLIBA stands for 'Please Let It Be Available', words that have crossed the mind of many people looking to book something.

It is the world's first generic booking system for mobile Internet users, and it was launched officially after receiving positive feedback throughout a 3-month trial conducted in Europe and Asia. PLIBA.mobi is currently free for everyone, while in the future, the service owner might pay a small fee per booking, which will most likely be a fixed fee and well below that taken for bookings made via other sites. Companies taking part in the trial will receive the bookings through e-mail or SMS text, and will be able to 'Accept' or 'Decline' the request.

Frank Cavanagh, Head of Communications for PLIBA said, "It's an attention-grabbing idea - companies in 12 countries agreed to trial PLIBA.mobi to see if making their services available for mobile web booking would increase business, and in each case enabling customers to book from a cellphone without having to make a call was effective. In just a few minutes they could register as a Service and simply tell some of their customers to start using PLIBA.mobi to book them instead of calling them or having to go to a PC to get online."

While mobile Internet is expected to be 4 times bigger than the current PC web, and 2 billion cellphones are already in use, a service like PLIBA.mobi seems to be more than appropriate. And as customers get more accustomed to the service, most of the companies are expected to completely move to PLIBA.mobi.
