Recently, a bunch of animal rights activists presented Southwest Airlines with a petition signed by thousands of people that asked that the company immediately end its marketing partnership with marine park SeaWorld.

The airline giant refused to do so, and green group Sea Shepherd was quick to criticize it for this move.

Now, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) urges that people who care about saving the marine mammals and other aquatic creatures held in captivity at various SeaWorld facilities send a letter to Southwest Airlines and demand that it reconsider its collaboration with the marine park.

“SeaWorld is responsible for tearing orca families apart, and the images of the marine park's heartbreaking actions are now seared into the minds of millions of people who have watched 'Blackfish,” the organization says.

“It's time for Southwest to hear from you why promoting SeaWorld doesn't fly,” it adds.

Those who want to get involved in this latest campaign against the marine park need only head over to PETA's website to find the letter that the animal rights activists want people to sign and send to Southwest Airlines.
