The animal rights defenders are accused of interfering with public order

This past Monday, members of green-oriented organization PETA decided to go against a KFC in Cambodia, hoping that their sitting outside the fast-food all locked up in a cage will raise some awareness with respect to animal rights.

Thus, the two protesters wished to bring forth the image of caged chickens, and therefore determine at least some people to agree with them on the topic of fast food chains and argue against how the latter abuse animals.

Unfortunately for the two PETA members who decided to make this very bold statement, local police didn't quite see eye to eye with them on the issue of animal rights, a difference of opinions that ultimately lead to the protesters' getting arrested for having disturbed public order.

“We wanted to know the reason for the protest because it’s strange. In Cambodia, no one wants to be caged, but they got into the cage by themselves,” a deputy police chief of the capital’s Daun Penh district told members of the press.
