Konami has offered some more details about Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 and how it uses a refined version of the Fox engine in order to ensure that football players are recreated in terms of their faces, movement, reactions, gestures, and much more.

PES 2015 was confirmed recently for a fall release on PS4 and Xbox One and Konami is slowly offering more and more details about the core mechanics of the soccer simulator and how it will drastically improve upon last year's iteration, which was once again dominated by EA's FIFA franchise.

After hearing a few details about the gameplay side of the actual soccer simulation, Konami has also talked a bit about the improved Fox engine technology that powers PES 2015. The same tech was used in last year's installment but, according to Konami, it was still in an "embryonic form." This time around, new features have been added while existing ones have been refined.

"Having debuted last year in an embryonic form, the power of the new wave of consoles has allowed a level of visual acuity and in-game advances that were previously impossible. All graphical features in-game from players, to crowd and stadium now benefit from a single source of real-time lighting naturally bringing the game to vivid next gen life," the publisher said.

The Fox engine allows soccer players to be recreated not just in terms of appearance but also in terms of animations, reactions, and many other things.

"PES 2015 now boasts a huge array of players that both look and play like their real-life counterparts. Konami has faithfully recreated over 1000 players this year, with bespoke animations and playing styles across its extensive player roster."

"They run like they should, play the way they do in real life, and react emotionally as they would to fouls, goals or referee decisions – with their frame of mind actually affecting how they play!"

Animations will be fast yet fluid, according to Konami, as PES 2015 uses a complex system to ensure that the player handles in a realistic way depending on factors like sprint speed, the ball, and other things.

Besides the actual action on the pitch, the Fox engine also allows for better crowd animations and effects, so that the stands feel like they're alive.

You can expect to hear Konami brag about other PES 2015 features as we get closer to the game's debut this fall for PS4, Xbox One, and other unannounced platforms.
