New concept with little details

The Motorola PEBL phone model appealed to fewer people than Motorola had previously expected, with its design and even performances. Motorola now takes this old phone concept and puts it into a new handset, ROKR U9.

This new phone model will have as a main quality that of being fully capable to provide evolved music performances. Entertainment and support for media files has been a considerably easy-to-see concern coming from Motorola in the design of its RAZR, SLVR and RIZR devices.

The reason for such a tendency is quite easy to spot, as combining two devices into one makes one step further for bringing more compact and efficient devices. And the competition in producing this type of mobile phones is anything but weak. LG and Samsung are now leading the mobile media entertainment market, as some recent surveys show. Motorola is on the third place, although manages to follow only from distance.

The ROKR U9 handset comes with an external color display, which manages to include controls similar to those seen in the RAZR2 model. The PEBL design makes it look smooth and carefully finished, giving it a high-tech marble design.

Details on the ROKR U9 have been scarcely provided, which makes it difficult to say just how great this new mobile phone is, coming from Motorola. The clamshell comes with USB connectivity performances, although lacks a 3.5 mm headphones jack.

Number "9" in the phone's name shows the fact that it will be part of the high-end line of devices coming from Motorola. The company currently needs a revolutionizing phone concept, as this year's second quarter financial results have shown that the mobile phone producer has not managed to reach the estimated number of sales. This situation has been present ever since the RAZR craze faded away, but Motorola has not managed in developing another successful handset model.
