Because of stability and functionality issues, the team decided to stick to the old KDE 3.5.10, but promised to make the latest KDE 4 available in the repositories once they improve it enough. The Linux kernel is 2.6.26.8.tex3 for both versions.

PCLinuxOS was founded six years ago, in October of 2003, by a company called Texstar, located in Houston, Texas. The PCLinuxOS distribution comes in the form of a Live CD, but it can also be permanently installed on a hard drive.
