Sega has recently made one of the most surprising announcements. You remember Dungeon Siege, right? Very popular game indeed. Well, this popular game is apparently going into the hands of Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games again, who will be making Space Siege, according to Joystiq.com, just for the PC platform for now.

First of all, let's remember what Dungeon Siege was all about.

In this great RPG, the player participates in a quest to save the land of Ehb from the forces of evil, controlling the main character from humble beginnings as a farmer to a powerful hero or heroine. As the game progresses, the main character may be joined by other adventurers, which the player also controls. The background is based in a fantasy medieval world with a great geographic variety in open and closed environments (dungeons). It sported some stunning graphics at the time of its launch with high detail and intelligent environment changes.

Now, here's the original piece of news, just as the above mentioned gaming site posted: "Sega announced today that Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games will follow up their Dungeon Siege series with Space Siege, an action RPG set for a Q1 2008 release for North America and Europe on the PC," reads the piece up on Joistiq.com.

"A far cry from leather and swords, you'll be playing an engineer who can sacrifice parts of his humanity for cybernetic upgrades. How much humanity you're willing to give up seems to be one of the game's central struggles, with NPCs reacting to you differently depending on how human you are. [...] Also mentioned in the release: A co-op multiplayer mode for up to four players."

Is this enough to get RPG gamers going or what? Yes, rather few details for now, but come on, they're only just announcing it. More will be revealed soon by either Sega or Gas Powered Games, so stay close and we'll keep you informed. In the meantime, tell us what your impressions are in the comments column.
