14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most appreciated action adventure games of recent times, Overlord, will mark its return as a multi-platform title, to the delight of fans all over the world. Codemasters have just announced that a series of sequels will hit PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS consoles, as well as PC systems sometime in 2009.
Yes, the developers will not bring us one new game and port it to different consoles, but rather develop three titles to best fit the platforms they're going to be played on - which is a great thing and, at least in theory, this should mean more unit sales, too.

The first game to be released, and the real sequel, will be Overlord II on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles and PC systems. In the game, a new Overlord and a more powerful army of Minions take on an entire empire in a truly epic adventure, inspired by the rise of the Roman Empire. As the Glorious Empire conquers kingdoms and destroys any sign of magic it finds, it's time to go Minion Maximus and send in the hordes to do their job! The minions have also learned to ride, wreck buildings and scenery and they are generally fiercer than ever. If you liked the first game, you will definitely love this one!
The Nintendo Wii will get its own title - Overlord Dark Legend, designed specifically for the console. A kind of a prequel, the action in the game is set in a time before the original where players take the role of a new young Overlord. As he revels in command of the Minions, our trainee tyrant will be able to take his growing pains out on the local fairy tale inhabitants as he protects his castle and lands.
Finally, Overlord Minions will be the name of the Nintendo DS exclusive developed by Codemasters. In the game you will meet Giblet, Blaze, Stench, and Zap - an elite Minion crew that, assisted by minion master Gnarl, gets to star in an irresistible and accessible puzzle action game. In this zany title, the Overlord commands the Minion team remotely - the Nintendo DS stylus becomes an extension of his evil will and every precise Touch Screen command is the player-as-Overlord directing, commanding and combining minions in battle.
