The pups were found on the UK's east coast, many are not even three weeks old

Over these past few days, over 100 seal pups have been rescued after being found stranded on beaches on UK's east coast. The pups are all orphans and the people who saved them say that they have all been separated from their moms after the region was hit by a tidal surge.

Most of the pups are not even three weeks old, which is why their fur is still white. Because they are very young, they need round-the-clock care, Daily Mail says.

The baby seals that are not yet old enough to be able to fend for themselves in the wild have been taken to the East Winch Wildlife Center in Norfolk.

The people working at this facility explain that, all things considered, it will be at least five months until the seal pups are back on their flippers. Once they are rehabilitated, they will probably be released back into the wild.

Because the East Winch Wildlife Center is not equipped to deal with so many seals at the same time, its staff is now asking that the public help them take care of them.

“We have never had a seal rescue project on a scale as big as this before. If it wasn’t for us, these seal pups would starve to death.”

“But we really need the public’s help because without their donations we simply couldn’t do what we do. This couldn’t have happened at a worse time for the seals,” Center Manager Alison Charles said in a statement.
