Some users are still having problems with Microsoft’s email platform

An issue that appeared out of nowhere a few hours ago brought Microsoft’s SkyDrive and Outlook.com services down for more than 7 hours, but the company moved quickly to bring them back online.

Now it appears that some users are still experiencing problems with Outlook.com, especially when it comes to reading emails from a mobile phone.

Microsoft claims that it is aware of a syncing email issue with your mobile device, so it’s now looking into the problem, with a fix to be announced shortly.

No details have been provided on the recent outage, but we’ve reached out to Microsoft for more information on this, so we will update the article when and if we get an answer. The only thing we got from the company was a small update on the services status page:

“Services such as Hotmail, Messenger, and SkyDrive are experiencing technical difficulties. We appreciate your patience as we work on the problem,” it said.

Update: a Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed for us the Outlook.com problems.

"Outlook.com experienced an incident that caused some customers not to be able to access their account or share their SkyDrive files. We have restored web access for all customers, but some people might still see issues with their mobile devices. We are working to restore full mobile access as quickly as possible. For the latest information, we encourage users to visit the status page," he told us in a mailed statement.

Update 2: Microsoft's status page claims that Outlook.com is up and running right now, but users are still reporting issues with the service.
