Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Australia is now home to a set of Oriental small-clawed otter pups, and word has it that the two rascals are some of the cutest things staff at this facility have until now had the chance to set eyes on.

Zoo Borns informs that the otter pups are both males and that they were born at Taronga Zoo earlier this year, on January 24, to mom Emiko and dad Pocket.

The otter pups are yet to feel at ease outside their den, but they do occasionally go about exploring the family's enclosure and have even been spotted undergoing their first swimming lessons.

Caretakers at Tarongo Zoo say that, as far as they can tell, both Emiko and Pocket are very much preoccupied with making sure that the two young otters are well taken care of and have everything that they might want or desire.

“Emiko and Pocket are being really attentive parents, we are really happy with their nurturing behaviors, as they are both first-time parents so it is a big learning curve for them,” keeper Ian Anderson told the press in a recent interview.

One of the pups has been named Kali, and caretakers are now trying to find a suitable moniker for the other one. All things considered, it will probably not be long until they do.
