After being snubbed at the Golden Globes, Oprah didn't fair very well at all at the Oscars either. Her performance in “Lee Daniels' The Butler” was considered by many to be up for the Best Supporting Actress nomination, but when yesterday the nominations were announced, she was nowhere on the list.

Her role in “Lee Daniels' The Butler” as the wife of the title character played by Forrest Whitaker had already received nominations from the Screen Actors Guild and from the BAFTA Awards.

It seems the Globes and the Oscars were on the same page this time, as Oprah's name didn't make the final cut.

The movie and her portrayal of a woman going through extreme challenges throughout the Civil Rights era received many praises, which is why it was considered as a potential nominee for the Oscars.

It would have been Oprah's first Oscar nomination after debut into cinematography with the poorly received 1998 film “Beloved.”
