John Travolta didn’t win himself any new fans this weekend when he made an appearance at the Oscars 2014 to introduce Idina Menzel on stage to perform the Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” from “Frozen.” However, he did provide many people online with ample opportunity to have a very hearty laugh.

Take for instance the guys over at Celebuzz. Shortly after the awards gala, where Travolta committed the faux-pas and invited Idina to the stage by calling her Adele Danzeem (or Adela Dazeem, or Adele Dazim), various other name proposals popped up online.

Travolta’s mishap is embedded in the Instagram video below.

The conclusion was that, had Travolta been asked to introduce more celebrities on stage, he would have made a complete mess of the show, but, oh, what fun we would have had. You can’t even imagine the hilarity that would have ensued.

For example, he could have welcomed Oscar-winning Best Supporting Actor Jared Leto on stage by asking the audience to give a round of applause for Jart Liters. Fellow nominee Bradley Cooper would have been renamed to Stanley Hooper.

Other celebrities Travolta might have asked on stage would have been Grouldie Hanz (Goldie Hawn) and Lisa Manila Envelope (Liza Minnelli), Brad Spit (Brad Pitt) and Hannah Kendrock (Anna Kendrick), Lunesta Knee-Congo (Lupita Nyong’o) and Janet Loorenstein (Jennifer Lawrence), Cindy Block (Sandra Bullock) and Maddow Mohogany (Matthew McConaughey), Bento Tinderbox (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Annjeen Jewels (Angelina Jolie).

Travolta had just one thing to do at the Oscars: dress up, show up and read the words on the teleprompter, as many angry viewers have already pointed out. He clearly wasn’t up to the task but, at the very least, we will always have him to thank for making us smile.
