14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears wasn’t at the actual Oscars awards gala but she still worked the party circuit after the prestigious gala. In fact, she and boyfriend David Lucado hit up Sir Elton John’s bash, which doubles as a fundraiser for charity.
The pop star, who is now doing shows in Las Vegas as part of a 2-year residency, looked flawless in a Michael Costello Couture black gown, with lots of sparkle and a very deep cleavage, and a cut that flattered her toned figure.
The dress also had an exposed back, as you can probably guess from the photo above.
Britney recently dyed her hair a dramatic red, and the color went perfectly with the dark gown, which also went perfectly with her skin tone. The design actually had see-through panels, and you could see Britney was wearing nude-colored hotpants.
She matched the Michael Costello Couture design with a statement necklace from Lorraine Schwartz and matching ring, a House of Harlow clutch and shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti.
Meanwhile, David Lucado, whom Britney has been dating for over a year, looked handsome in a classic dark tux.
“Getting ready to go to Elton and David's party! Love this amazing event that's for a great cause :),” Britney tweeted before she headed out for the event, in a post accompanying the photo above.
As is customary, the pop princess posed on the red carpet for photographers. Some media outlets made a lot of fuss around the fact that she was smacking gum all along and how you could actually see the piece of gum in her mouth when she smiled for picture, and how that wasn’t Oscar-appropriate behavior.
Still, to hold it against Britney that she’s chewing on a piece of gum is like not knowing Britney at all. Plus, she looked happy and genuinely thrilled to be at the party and, last but not least, absolutely gorgeous, so focusing on such a small detail seems really pointless.
Also at the party were the Kardashians, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney and their mother Kris Jenner, but rumor has it that this had actually been Kim’s second choice because she’d desperately tried to score an invite to the Vanity Fair party. She was denied because she wasn’t deemed A-list enough.
Britney and David first went out on a date last Valentine’s Day and they have been together non-stop ever since. Some time ago, she admitted in a TV interview that they had exchanged “I love yous,” explaining that he got clearance from her dad before he asked her out.
