Sunday's Academy Awards didn't go down without some drama – and a few hours in a police station, for some. Actress Sean Young has been arrested for misdemeanor battery after allegedly slapping a guard.

The incident took place as the star was reportedly trying to get into the prestigious Governors Ball, the Academy's post-Oscars exclusive party, without a ticket, TMZ reports.

At the same time, word online has it that Young tried to crash the party twice: she was first turned away and left, but came back and gave it another try.

A security guard already had his eye on her so, when he saw her trying to sneak in to the party the second time around, he grabbed her by the arm to lead her away.

In response, she slapped him and the guard, advised by one of the Academy's attorneys, put her under a citizen's arrest.

Young was taken to the police station in Hollywood and held for 4 hours, after which she was released.

In the video below, she presents her version of the events and, as you can very well see, she holds the attorney responsible for her arrest – even though she did nothing wrong.

As she puts it, she wasn't trying to get in to the Governors Ball, she was simply standing outside, talking with friends who had tickets.

Out of the blue, she was arrested, dragged to the station and kept there for 4 hours, in what Young believes to be an example of how completely disrespectful the Academy is towards some actors.

TMZ notes that she might be telling the truth, at least according to what insiders are saying about the altercation.

“We're told Sean was standing near the entrance of the Governors Ball, taking pictures with friends when security guards realized she didn't have a ticket so they asked her to leave,” TMZ reports.

“We're told Sean left but came back shortly thereafter, and when security asked her to leave again, a guard may have placed his hand on her arm when Sean allegedly slapped him. She was then placed under citizen's arrest for battery,” adds the same media outlet.
