Singer's dress seemed see-through, might have revealed too much

Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz presented the award for Best Makeup at the Oscars 2012 last night and, while this in itself should be no reason for controversy, the fact that Lopez's dress appeared see-through made it so.

We have included two videos below, at the end of the article, for your consideration.

Dressed in a stunning Zuhair Murad gown that embraced every inch of her perfect hourglass figure, Lopez literally shone on stage.

However, all viewers' eyes were not on her figure, of which they could admire plenty thanks to the body hugging dress and the plunging neckline, but rather on her chest.

It seemed as though the gown was see-through – and millions took to Twitter to say that they were convinced they'd seen Jennifer's breast through it.

Some even went as far as to say that she'd had a “wardrobe malfunction,” though, in all fairness, the impression of transparency could have been just that: an impression.

At least, that's what the diva's stylist, Mariel Haenn, is telling Entertainment Weekly in a statement issued shortly after her client walked the stage.

There was no way they could have seen her breast through the dress because it had been designed in such a way as to reveal not an inch of skin more than planned.

In other words, fat chance for a “wardrobe malfunction,” JLo was safely secured in her custom-made designer gown.

“The Oscar dress was custom made for Jennifer by designer Zuhair Murad. The dress fit perfectly to her every inch. There were cups built in and there’s no chance that there were any how do you say? 'slips',” Haenn says.

“While the dress did give the illusion of sheer-ness, joke's on everyone who wishes they saw something! If you thought that dress was hot wait until you see what’s next,” the stylist adds.

Indeed, later that same evening, at the Vanity Fair party, JLo changed into an even more daring design, with a neckline that plunged almost down to her navel.
