14 DAY TRIAL // The Academy Awards 2011 are this Sunday, February 27 and, as expected speculation on performers, presenters and winners is running rampant. Britney Spears fans should probably also tune in.
The singer is now riding the high wave of her latest single, “Hold It Against Me,” which not only managed to break a few records but also caused some waves with the recently released video.
Fans still not getting enough of the pop star should probably know that they shouldn’t miss the Oscars this year because she will be, in one form or the other, included in the awards ceremony.
This comes from one of Spears’ biggest fansites, Breathe Heavy, which claims to have it from a very good source that Britney will be somehow involved.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t say how.
“A little birdie tells BreatheHeavy.com Britney fans should tune in to the Oscars on Sunday!” reads a post on the website – and that’s all.
The blogosphere is already on fire with talk of what this surprise could be.
Of course, the most optimistic fans choose to believe that Britney will perform at the Oscars, either a song or as part of a skit with co-hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco.
There is also the most likely possibility that Spears has received an invite to the glitzy event, the most important of the entire awards season, and plans to honor it.
Another possibility would be to have a pre-taped message air at the awards ceremony and, last but not least (and perhaps the most probable of the lot), is the theory that Spears’ camp will be making an announcement.
However, this will not air during the actual Oscar ceremony but in one of the commercial breaks. Some believe she will be announcing her next single off the upcoming “Femme Fatale” album but this could go either way.
