14 DAY TRIAL // This past weekend was a very busy one for fashion critics and aficionados, as everyone who is anyone was either at the Oscars or at one of the pre- or after-parties. The 2010 Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party held at the Pacific Design Center on Sunday was no exception, with the ladies rushing to show off their designer gowns and perfect poses, as the Daily Mail can confirm.
“Man Men” star Christina Hendricks, for one, was among the stunners who chose a short dress for the special occasion, one that also flattered and made the most of her hourglass figure. Wearing a black, low-cut and body-hugging LBD (little black dress), the 34-year-old beauty accessorized with a Cole Haan “Angelina” clutch and very little jewelry. Not that she needed it, for that matter, fashion critics say, since she has her curvy figure and gorgeous hair that draw enough attention.
Newly slimmed Kelly Osbourne was also in attendance, coming to the party not in the company of her fiancé but with her mother, Sharon. The star made the most of her recently toned body in a dashing, pale pink dress, with heavy embroidery in the upper part and a boa skirt, which complimented her figure perfectly. Though she was walking on very thin ice with her hair being almost the same shade as her dress, Kelly pulled off the look and even got critics singing her praises for knowing how to accessorize and, last but not least, wear the gown.
Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson was also at Elton John’s party, also rocking a newly slimmed body in a gorgeous, dark blue Michael Kors creation and literally dripping in diamonds from Stephen Russell, estimated to have been worth about $1 million. Also gorgeous was Victoria Beckham, who, though impeccably looking, did not really break any new ground, choosing to stick to her trademark look in a light beige gown from her own collection.
The dress featured a pixilated print and a narrow, black belt for maximum effect, making Victoria’s tiny figure appear almost overwhelmed by her own dress. The same did not apply to Simon Cowell’s fiancée, Mezghan Hussainy, who also wore a VB creation, this time in black.
