The young bear's mother was killed by poachers, the cub would have surely died had it been left abandoned in the woods

About a month ago, a family living in the town of Tulun in Russia's Irkutsk Oblast welcomed a new member: an orphaned bear cub whose mother was killed by poachers and that would have surely died if left to fend for itself.

Since the cub is still very young, its foster family don't have to worry about being attacked by it. Still, seeing how the animal will only grow stronger in the months to come, they will eventually have to give it up, chiefly for their own safety.

The young bear seems to enjoy life with humans

The Shcherbakov family in the town of Tulun in Russia's Irkutsk region decided to adopt the orphaned bear cub after the unfortunate animal somehow found its way to their home and walked straight through their front gate.

Rather than chase the cub away, the Russian family welcomed it into their lives. To keep it healthy and satisfied, they feed it milk and porridge. By the looks of it, the bear cub very much enjoys this diet.

It is understood that the adorable bear cub now goes by the name Mishutka. The fury creature might look small and cuddly these days, but it will surely grow to be a fierce predator in just a short while.

The family hopes a zoo or a circus will accept the bear

The bear cub's adoptive family might care a great deal about the animal but, as mentioned, they can't hold on to it forever. Instead, they’ll have to say their goodbyes before the animal grows big and strong enough to become a threat.

According to DM, the Shcherbakov family hope that a zoo or at least a circus will agree to look after the bear. Having spent this much time around humans, the animal clearly cannot be returned to the wild when it becomes an adult.
