3D printers are nothing new, but lately these have become a lot smaller and simpler to use, culminating with the Origo 3D that is designed to let kids build their own toys.

In order to make this process a lot easier for kids, Orico's creation will come with a special software that enables users to create 3D objects from basic building blocks.

Much like is the case with a traditional printer, these creations can then be transfered via a wireless network or through USB stick , while printing the model will take about one hour, depending on the size and intricacy of the design.

Right now, the Origo printer is still at an prototype stage, but its creators hope it will become a reality in about 18 months time.

When Origo will finally ship is creation, pricing is expected to hover around the $800 (586 Euro) mark, making quite cheaper than the $1,000 (735 Euros) iModela we took a look at earlier this week. (via Uber Gizmo)
