14 DAY TRIAL // Last week mobile game developer Rumilus Design announced its plans to launch the original Nokia Snake game in an updated form, on three major platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
Today, the game called Snake Rewind made its debut in Google Play Store, App Store and Windows Phone Store. Those who did not have the chance to try out the addictive Snake game that was included in most Nokia phones will now be able to download it for free.
Created by Taneli Armanto, Snake Rewind “takes the iconic elements and intuitive gameplay from the original Snake game and combines them with cool visual effects, sounds and innovative new features.
“The game can be immediately picked up by everyone, while offering enjoyment for a long time with many fun and challenging goals and discoveries.”
The game comes with 10 levels, each with different designs and music, which can be unlocked by completing fun and challenging missions.
Facebook and Game Center integration
Many different types of special fruit will provide the snake with unique powers and effects, and if you crash the snake, you will be able to rewind it and continue the game, hence the name.
Players can purchase boosters and items, as well as upgrade them via the fruit store. Only fruit collected while playing can be upgraded though.
Furthermore, players will be able to play against each other for higher scores and rankings on the leaderboards. Snake Rewind features Game Center and Facebook integration as well.
You can now download Snake Rewind for Android for free via Google Play store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
In addition, the iOS version can be downloaded via App Store. It should be compatible with all devices powered by iOS 5.2 and up.
Those who own Windows Phone devices can also download Snake Rewind via Windows Phone Store. The game supports devices equipped with at least 512MB RAM powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
