This is one of those miniature high-end desktop PCs everyone can love

High-end desktops normally come in vary large and very opulent gaming cases, but that only goes for pre-configured, branded systems. On the DIY market, people don't really have a set standard for enclosures as long as they have enough room inside for what's needed.

And yet there are some branded systems that defy the norm, like the latest offer from Origin PC, housed inside a Silverstone SG10 case.

Quite simply, it is a small, black box. Not the smallest in the world, and not the type of black box that records things happening in airplanes.

Still, it is small compared to normal desktop systems, and yet has enough room to hold a Quad-SLI graphics configuration.

Of course, it helps that said Quad-SLI configuration involves the GeForce GTX 690 graphics card.

Since each GTX 690 has two distinct GPUs, a Quad-SLI setup only needs two. No amount of space saving would have allowed four of those inside the case. That would have demanded larger motherboards after all.

In addition to NVIDIA's two strongest dual-GPU video cards, Origin PC can equip the new gaming system with full tower CPU coolers and ATX power supplies.

Speaking of ATX, the full motherboard form factor is not supported, as we've already stated. Fortunately, there are plenty of high-end micro-ATX Z87 and X79 motherboards on the market.

There is also enough space for liquid coolers. Since reservoirs and pumps needn't be inside the desktop case, they are actually recommended, as water blocks are much smaller than air coolers, and much more effective.

All in all, the Origin PC SFF PC should have no trouble playing things like Metro: Last Light and Crysis 3. Especially with two video boards and, no doubt, an Intel Core i5/i7 CPU running everything.

Sadly, the price of the SG10 remains a mystery. It will definitely vary though. For things like this, they always do, since memory, storage, etc. can be customized.
