If you want to cut down the number of phones that you use every day or the cost of the phone calls, Orange's new service, the simply named "Unique", could be an answer to your wish. It will use the Livebox wireless broadband router provided by Orange, so you can make VoIP phone calls from home at lower prices and still have the ability to connect to the GSM network when on-the-go. Besides the lower costs of the phone bill, you will also have the possibility to use the fast broadband connection provided by the wireless router, with speeds of up to 8 Mb that can vary in direct proportion with the distance to the local exchange point.

Orange's wireless broadband router is said to support up to 6 mobile phones at a time, and the phone calls made through it are all put on the same low cost bill, thanks to the Orange VoIP calling plans with much lower prices than the actual GSM call costs.

Another interesting feature offered by the "Unique" service is the capability to switch between GSM and landline VoIP networks during the call, without any interruption or any other inconvenience.

The new technology is going to be available from November, and will be ready for use on the Motorola A910, the Nokia 6136 and the Samsung P200.
