If there's one trendsetter out there who can inspire millions of women to lead a healthier lifestyle, that's definitely Oprah Winfrey, the talk-show host and queen of daytime TV. Winfrey, whose weight has fluctuated over the years, has decided to do something about her recent weight gain and embarked on a very public 21-day vegan cleansing diet.

This comes in the aftermath of another revelation, as Oprah recently disclosed that she'd been suffering from hypothyroidism and was keen to change her eating habits yet again by going completely meat-free. What is more, the iconic TV personality has decided to keep her fans updated with the progress of her diet via her blog.

Oprah admitted that she draws her inspiration form Kathy Freston's book "Quantum Wellness", and said that "this 21-day cleanse gives me a chance to think about [eating] differently and see what my attachments are to certain kinds of foods - and what I'm willing to do to change". Of course, Oprah is not going to cook her own food - in the end, she's a celebrity with a very busy schedule. As a result, Kathy Freston decided to "lend" her a personal chef to handle her meals and apparently the new diet is a real hit with Oprah.

"Wow, wow, wow! I never imagined meatless meals could be so satisfying", she recently wrote on her blog. "I had been focused on what I had to give up - sugar, gluten, alcohol, meat, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese. 'What's left?' I thought. Apparently a lot. I can honestly say every meal was a surprise and a delight, beginning with breakfast - strawberry rhubarb wheat-free crepes".

Other foods that Oprah will be enjoying include things like tofu scramble, roasted tomato, grilled onion and sweet garlic aioli quesadillas with jicama slaw. "Don't know if I'm going to feel better or worse", Winfrey writes on the same blog, "but I'm willing to try to see if my body at least feels differently".
