Oksana Grigorieva, Mel Gibson’s former lover and the mother of his daughter Lucia, is scheduled to make an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about the bitter split – and, it would seem, re-launch her music career.

News first broke that several networks were locked in a bitter bidding war to get exclusive on the first Oksana interview, in which she will undoubtedly also speak about the Gibson split.

The major contenders were 60 Minutes and Oprah, with reports saying that the latter eventually secured the interview.

Now, TMZ reports, the exclusive came at a rather high cost, as Oksana demanded she be allowed to use the show as a platform to re-launch her pop career, the same one that was received so harshly by critics upon first try.

As it must be common knowledge, because of her popularity, Oprah has a lot of power when it comes to promoting the project of an artist, be it a music album or a new television show.

Therefore, it’s not that strange that Oksana thought of this when she negotiated the terms of the deal.

“Imagine this... Oprah Winfrey the most powerful person in the history of television – and now the tool of one Oksana Grigorieva... who is using the talk show queen to jump start her music career,” TMZ says.

Things are already going in the right direction, with camera crews visiting the singer’s home to start taping the interview.

“Sources tell TMZ... a camera crew from the Oprah show rolled over to Oksana’s home in Sherman Oaks on Friday to shoot some footage for Oksana’s upcoming appearance... but there was a secret agenda,” the same e-zine informs.

The secret agenda consists of Oksana’s demand that she be allowed to promote herself musically during the interview.

As we previously reported, Oksana agreed to do an exclusive sit-down with Oprah and spill her guts about Mel – but in return, Oksana wanted to showcase her musical ‘talents’ on TV... and Oprah caved,” TMZ says.

We also reported on several past occasions that Oksana landed a contract for a first music album with Mel Gibson’s record label. The album came – and went – without causing much fuss, with critics thrashing it and the fans (Mel’s, not hers) calling it a complete waste of time.
